Healthy Homes Campaign

Keeping the home safe is a major concern for many people. Chemicals are a major part of our daily lives. While many chemicals can cause little to no harm if used correctly, there are others more noxious substances that can cause significant damage to health and the environment. Although many people are familiar with harmful pollutants emitted by smokestack industry and automobiles, many toxins lurk inside our cupboards and throughout the home. We have combed through various sources to compile a list of common household items containing toxic ingredients. Furthermore, we have also listed healthier and more environmentally-friendly alternatives that help keep the home clean and healthy.

See our Green Home Cleaning Campaign page for a list of toxic substances found in common household cleaners.
